The Esignature Module is designed to equip Administrators with a method to capture Learner consent to acknowledge and agree to terms, policies, contracts, and important requirements and stipulations related to the training content the Learners are consuming.
Litmos' esignature is not considered a legally binding signature in accordance with Esignature laws
With the Litmos Esignature module, Administrators can establish standards that require Learners agree to rules which can be enforced to hold the Learner accountable for their access to the materials in the course. This is a useful feature to employ when the content is confidential, proprietary or copyrighted.
To create an Esignature module, access a course, click into the Course Content tab, click "Add Content", select "Create", select "Esignature" and then proceed to configure the new Esignature module details.
When the Esignature module details appear, Administrators will first enter a Module title and Module description, and then proceed to choose if the end-user is to be required to read online materials to agree to, or, download a hard-copy of a document and upload a signed copy of that document with the Learner signature included.
If an Administrator chooses to require Learners to upload a signed copy of a document, the HTML text editor will vanish and a new option to "choose a file" will display:
Once the module is saved and available to Learners in the Course, Learners will access the module and see that there is an esignature required as a part of the module.
When the Learner clicks "start", the next page will either show the HTML text editor content, or, it will require the Learner to upload a signed copy of a document that is available to download.
Once the Learner successfully submits the esignature and consents that he/she has read, understood and agreed to the contents therein, the Learner will receive confirmation that the esignature has been captured and stored in Litmos.
If the Learner is required to submit a signed copy of a document that was downloaded, the Administrator will be required to mark the module complete from the Administrator view, to either approve or reject the signature. For this reason, the Learner may see a confirmation that indicates the esignature was submitted, but that it requires marking.
Administrators can report on the details of Esignature modules by accessing the Module Quick Report, filtering the report for "Esignature" module types and viewing the user results of an Esignature module attempt.
If the Learner submitted a signed copy of a document, the signed copy is available to the Administrator download, review and save. In order for the Learner to be marked complete, a satisfactory marking must be given.
