Video Error - "We were unable to encode your video"

Problem:  After uploading a video you receive the error message:  "We were unable to encode your video."

Why this occurs:  The video is not in a standard format that we are able to encode.  If the video is in a file format we support (.avi, .wmv, .mpg, .mov, .flv, .m4v, .mp4) it is likely that the codec used to create the video is not supported by our system.  This is common if the course was created using a tool that has it's own codec (i.e. WebEx or GoToMeeting).

Solution:  Convert your video into a file type and codec supported by Litmos.   However, in some cases the video converter tool may not support the file type or codec of the original video.  If this is the case, you may need to contact the video creation tool's support to learn more about using a standardized codec.
