What is the best type of video file to upload as a video module?

We support the upload of the following video file types in to Litmos: .avi, .mov, .wmv, .mpeg., .mpg, .3gp, .3g2, .mj2, .asf, .m4v. When you upload any of these file types, Litmos first encodes the file then converts it to the .mp4 format for playback. We also make an HTML5 copy of it to deliver to learners who attempt to access the video content from an iPhone or iPad.

While we also support the upload of .flv, .mp4 and .fl9 videos, these files do not need to go through the encoding process. Therefore, if you do not want your file to be encoded and converted, we would suggest uploading an .mp4 file to begin with as this will be played back as it is.
