Custom domains give you the ability to further customize Litmos LMS by using your URL like “www.mywebsite.com”.
This can be tricky to set up, and is only recommended for advanced users. In most cases our support team is not able to assist you in making the DNS changes required to get this working. If you’re having trouble following these instructions please contact your IT administrator or a friend that knows a little bit about configuring websites.
Let’s get started
First off, you need to buy a domain from a registrar like GoDaddy, AsiaRegistry, or iWantMyName. This usually costs US $10-$40 per year.
Next up you need to follow the registrar’s instructions to create a CNAME for your domain that points to g1.litmos.com (for clients using the Australian Litmos site, please use g1.litmos.com.au).
Note: You must use an CNAME record, you don’t need to do domain forwarding or change your nameservers. It could take up to 72 hours for your domain change to take effect.
Then tell us your domain name
In order for us to show your custom login page you need to tell us the domain name that you’re using.
To do this you need to login to your Litmos account and go to the “Account” tab. At the bottom of the screen you will see the option to use your own custom domain.
Warning! No HTTPS Security
Due to a requirement to have a secure certificate for your domain it is not possible to use SSL security with your custom domain name. Therefore You will notice that you can only use http:// addresses.
