Send A Notification Email

If a user’s email address has been entered in their profile, send them notifications.  The notifications available:

Adding a new person 

Alert a new user that a profile has been created for them.  This email will include the username of the user and a linkl that allows them to login to the system for the first time, set their password and update their profile.  

Note:  This link is only to be used for the first time a user is accessing the system.  Afterwords, the user will need to use the url specified by an Account Owner, generally http://COMPANYNAME.litmos.com.

To send this notification, when creating the new user profile, check the Send a welcome email to this person inviting them to login.

A new person is added to a course 

Notify a user that they have been added to a new course.

To send this notification:

  • From the People sub tab within the course, select Assign to existing people, select the people to assign the course and make sure the Send email notifications is checked.
  • OR go to the Courses sub tab within a user record and selecting Assign to courses, select the courses to assign to the person and make sure the Send email notifications is checked.

Notify administrators when users finish a course 

Notify specific administrators when a course has been completed.

To set up this notification, select the course the notification is for and select the Settings sub tab.  Select the Administrator’s name from the Add to notifications dropdown on the right.

Send a Compliance reminder - Manually remind users that their compliance for a course is about to expire.

To set up this notification, navigate to the people sub tab within a course.  Select Send compliance reminder email in the dropdown menu on the right.  You will then be prompted to send the emails or cancel the action.

Schedule email for this report 

Create personalized reports and schedule them to send out to both users and nonusers.

To set up this notification, navigate to reports, click on Create a report and select the desired settings.   Once the report is visible select Schedule email for this report on the left.  Give the report a title, enter who should receive the email, what format (CSV or Custom) and how frequent the report should be sent.  Note:  For more information on creating reports view:  How to Create a Report.

 

To disable or enable email message notifications for a user 

Turn on and off message notifications sent to a user.  

Note:  Login, course assignments, and other important notifications are not controlled by this setting.

To disable or enable all notifications for a user, navigate to the People tab and select the user to disable the notifications for.  Select Edit [THE PERSONS NAME]‘s profile.  In the left column, beneath email check or uncheck "Send email notifications for messages".

To disable or enable email forum notifications for a user 

Turn on and off forum notifications sent to a user.  

To disable or enable all notifications for a user, navigate to the People tab and select the user to disable the notifications for.  Select Edit [THE PERSONS NAME]‘s profile.  In the left column, beneath email check or uncheck "Send email notifications for forums".
